How Blue LEDs Changed the World
Small, energy-efficient LEDs are everywhere, powering nearly every modern electronic device we use today. Beyond their widespread presence, they also have the potential to make a massive impact on global energy savings. However, LEDs remained limited in their applications until the 1990s, when Japanese scientists made a groundbreaking discovery—the blue LED. This crucial breakthrough completed the color spectrum, paving the way for the vibrant LED displays and energy-efficient lighting we rely on today.

Parking Tracking System Using Ultrasonic Sensor HC-SR04 and NODEMCU ESP8266 Based IoT
Finding a parking spot in busy areas can be a frustrating experience, especially when traditional parking systems lack intelligent tracking solutions. Many systems still operate without sensor technology and IoT integration, leading to unexpected congestion and inefficiencies. To address this issue, researchers have developed a smart parking tracking system using the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, NODEMCU ESP8266, and an IoT-based web application. This innovative system provides real-time updates on available parking spots, allowing users to reserve spaces and streamline the parking process.

Case Study: ANPR Utilized for Smart Parking
Machine learning has seen widespread adoption across various domains recently. This paper illustrates the deployment of an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) model using machine learning techniques. Employing TensorFlow for license plate detection and Tesseract for Optical Character Recognition (OCR), the model takes a car image as input, identifies the characters on the license plate, converts them into text format, and sends this data to the Smart Parking system for further handling. Trained on diverse car license plate images from different countries, the model achieves a detection accuracy of 96.75%. This versatile model can be applied to various tasks requiring ANPR, such as smart parking systems.
